Praise and Worship – Traditional Southern Gospel plus Contemporary Praise and WorshipWednesday Night Ministries 6:00 pm Community Meal – Free! 6:25 Prayer Meeting and ‘Rewind’ Bible Study. The Bayside StoryBayside Community Church was a Vision of Ms. Elsie Cole for many years. Mr. Emmitt and Mrs. Elsie Cole donated the one acre tract to build the building. Bro. Phil Colquitt was instrumental in the construction of the church. Through the help of a low interest loan from the Baptist General Convention of Texas and donations the building became a reality. Rexco Construction erected the metal structure and the Texas Baptist Men framed and closed in the building. It was up to the small congregation of 20 to tape, float and paint the building. Ms. Elsie Cole’s vision became a reality and Bayside Community Church began saving souls. In the 2000’s Bro. Phil Colquitt felt led to become a Missionary in South America. Reverend BJ Hall was called to Pastor the church. Under the leadership of Bro. Hall, the church added a 1,500 square foot fellowship building. The fellowship hall interior was finished out by Bro. Richard and Bro. Josh Bailey. In 2012 Bro. Hall retired leaving the church without a Pastor. Bayside Community Church began searching for a Pastor. On April 12, 2012 Pastor Ruben and Shelley Castillo were called by God to Pastor the church and received 100 percent of the vote, by then a total of 18 in the congregation. The church was debt free and $22,000 in the checking account. In September 2012 Pastor Ruben felt led by God to be the Healing Place for His work in Olivia. So the Lord guided to begin Wednesday Evening Prayer and Bible Study. The Wednesday Prayer and Bible Study began with 2 people in attendance Pastor Ruben and Shelley. It wasn’t long there were approximately 12 in attendance on Wednesday evening Prayer and Bible Study. God continued His Presence and moved the congregation forward with a slow but faithful Prayer Group. The Wednesday Prayer and Bible Study warriors prayed for the lord to bring 40 couples to move the church forward to do God’s Work. God is Faithful!!!!In February 2014 the Cole Ranch was placed for sale by the Cole Family. Pastor Ruben sought permission from the church congregation to purchase an additional 2 acres from the Cole Family to expand the ministry. Pastor Ruben Castillo and Bro. Mike Maxwell met with Pastor Les Cole and Chuck Cole about purchasing the additional acreage. The Cole’s asked Pastor Ruben if there was a plan for the additional acreage. The church presented a written plan and created a Campus Enhancement Plan. In April 2015 after meeting with the Cole Family Representatives it was agreed the Cole Family would “Love Deed” the additional 2 acres to Bayside Community Church. The Church paid for the survey and general warranty deed finalizing the Love Deed.Once again, God remained faithful and answered the congregation’s prayer for the property. In September 2014 Bayside Community Church was certified as a Red Cross Shelter. The church and fellowship hall were made ADA compliant and installed necessary safety measures to Shelter those in need. Bayside Community Church is one of two certified Red Cross Shelters in Calhoun County. The other shelter is a building at the Fair Grounds. In April 2015 the church checking account was now $98,000. God moved the church family and the church took bids and voted Lewing Buildings, El Campo to build the site and construct the bolt up Parsonage shell and basketball court for $44,000. Bro. Richard Bailey took charge of the parsonage and was instrumental in finishing out the parsonage. God moved hearts and His Church responded by church family donating the floor tile, sheet rock, wall studs, kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, stove, microwave, washer / dryer, sofa, love seat, end tables, full size bed and even the kitchen sink. The Parsonage was completed in August 2015 and Pastor Ruben and Shelley moved into the Parsonage. Praise the Lord!!!On the 2ndWednesday in September 2015 the church began Wednesday Ministries. It was overwhelming but as God Promised, children and youth were brought into the church. Reaching up to 70! Praise the Lord!!!In 2016 Bayside Community Church was instrumental in establishing the Olivia Community Center Board. It’s important to serve our community and preserve the first school building of Olivia and a community land mark. The Community Center is coming along nicely due various donations.2017 was a year of continuing God’s Harvest in Olivia – Port Alto.In the summer of 2018, God began to grow Bayside Community Church and as of September 2018 the church has 135 family members and has had 52 salvations since April of 2012! Bayside Community Church remains “Debt Free and God Remains Faithful!!!Now the Future of Bayside Community Church! The Bible states: But Seek First the Kingdom of God and ALL His Righteousness and ALL these Things WILL BE Added to Thee!!!Matthew 16:18 (KJV)18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.Way before we were even here God’s Heart has been here and Had Us in mind. He knows everything and we remain “An Obedient Bride”2 Chronicles 19:9-11 (KJV)9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the Lord, faithfully, and with a perfect heart. From now forward we need to make missions and evangelism priorities. I challenge you the church to be, and make, disciples and let God build His church. The question is “Can God today, find a people who trust Him to supply the need by financially blessing the people instead of leading them to borrow from the world’s monetary institutions?” Can God still do what He did in the days of scripture writings – “Supply all the need?” Let’s TRUST GOD Church and by faith we believe God can be glorified!” Let us shock the world to see a church where offering plates are not passed, pledge cards are not signed, and no money will be borrowed to do God’s work here at Bayside Community Church “GOD’S HOUSE of WORSHIP”If we want to build a building for the sake of look at us, WE DON”T NEED IT!!! If we are doing this to build the kingdom, God will build it, we will use, take care of it, be overseers and not bring the world into it.Share the new Site Plan and then the Floor PlanShare the Church Org. Chart with everyone and Appoint Joe Ureste to be our Prayer Warrior.I am asking for your Prayers as God leads us to do HIS WORK today, to give His People a Place of Refuge and A Place where Healing Can Begin!Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not
