The purpose of Missions and Outreach Ministries at Bayside Community Church is to train and equip ordinary people to go and do extraordinary things in the name of Jesus so that all might see, hear and experience God’s love in tangible ways.
What are Missions?
The word mission comes from the Latin words mitto (to send) and missio (sending). So mission implies that someone has sent something to accomplish a task. In other words, God has sent the church to accomplish a task.
Missions can serve as a great vehicle for discipleship, not only for those you are serving but for church members as well.
Matthew 28:18-20 King James Version (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
What are outreach ministries?
Outreach ministry is the Church at work in God’s name, stretching out to meet needs in our community. Our daily lives are filled with outreach ministry, whether or not we have a formal role in the Church. As Christians, we engage in outreach whenever we answer God’s call by serving the needs of others.
