Dear Bayside Community Church Family,

God is at work within us as volunteers are stepping up to complete much needed updates in our current buildings.  The Facility Team is on the move and a full report will be made at our next quarterly business meeting on March 31, at 4:00 pm.  At this time, the team has a sign-up sheet located on an information table in the sanctuary for volunteers specializing in various trades to sign up to help with projects to be completed at this time.   Please pray about volunteering your time and talents to the updating of our current buildings.  If you have any fundraising ideas, Fundraising Team Leader Bridget Bailey is asking for you to stay after Worship Service on Sunday March 10, 2019.  Thank you!

Walking Trail:  At last Sunday’s Elder meeting, it was suggested that a survey be taken from you, Church Family, to determine how many would actually use a walking trail here at the church.  Please respond to this email with your comments concerning the walking trail project and please let us know if you would be interested in utilizing it.

Wednesday Night Family Ministries:  join us for a Community meal of BBQ sausage and mac & cheese at 5:45 pm.  At 6:25 the children will have opening ceremony and the adults will begin prayer and Bible study class.  If you are unable to make it for the meal, please join us for dessert in honor of Pastor Ruben’s birthday.

Thursday Golden Oldies Meeting:  The Oldies will meet at 10:30 am here at the sanctuary for their fourth Thursday monthly meeting.  We are asking that the ‘Oldies’ plan on individually ordering burgers from Tanna’s Outback Burgers and More for lunch.  Chips, tea and dessert will be provided.    Elder Ron Stevenson would like to finish the 2019 calendar of events for the Oldies at this meeting and Sister Nelda Zwahr is providing banana pudding for Pastor’s birthday!

Volunteers Needed:  We are asking for assistance in taking care of the Cole Ranch lawn mowing.  Our consistent volunteer, Renato Salazar, is not able to complete the weekly mowing because of a change in his job schedule.  If you would be interested in volunteering your time to this ministry, please contact Pastor Ruben.  Thank you.

Super Sunday, March 3:  This upcoming Sunday we will partake in Communion, enjoy a potluck lunch, and have our monthly Food Pantry collection. Suggested items for the pantry are:  instant potatoes, mixed vegetables, canned chili, spaghetti sauce, pancake mix, syrup, canned juice and fruit.

The bible states in Philippians 4:6-7  (NKJV)

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Although written to the Philippian church, the principle of Philippians 4:6 applies to all believers. When we have problems and worries, we often forget to pray about them. Then, when we do pray, we may think that the only help that God can give is to grant the request as we have presented it and change the situation. God may very well do that. He has the power to change any situation, but He will not be limited to that. God does not promise to change every situation to our liking. What He does promise to do is give us peace during any situation. In other words, God may or may not change the circumstance, but He will change our disposition toward it so that it does not cause us inner turmoil.

Paul does not promise that God will do every single thing they request. They were not being handed a blank check. But he does promise that, when the Philippians pray about things, God will change the Philippians themselves: “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). When they really pray about their problems and choose to be thankful, God will give them peace.

I share this commentary with you because, GOD is doing a Good Work here at Bayside Community Church.  As your Pastors, Shelley and I take our calling very seriously with fear and trembling.  Thus, we want to encourage you to please Pray about “All” your daily worries and anxieties.  God is able to do “exceedingly and abundantly.”

In one day, the month of  February will end and March 2019 will begin.  Daylight savings time approaches and we welcome longer days and sunshine in the evenings.

Our Hope is for you to join us as we assemble according to Hebrews 10:24-25   24And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

In Closing, it is our Honor to be your Pastors and “Thank You” for being part of our Family. We Love YOU!

Pastor Ruben and Ms. Shelley
